Striking Media Music are Dan and Deryn Cullen, a resourceful and innovative pair of musicians with decades of musical experience between them.

Dan is a self-taught guitarist, bassist, vocalist and composer. He has 30 years’ experience as a songwriter and performer, and turned his hand to serious composition more recently. In addition to this, his engineering and production skills have received praise from musicians and producers alike across the globe. He has worked as front-man in bands, and has written a vast collection of songs, lyrics and classical music.

Deryn has been playing the cello and piano for over 20 years, and received her musical training in South Africa, where she attended the University of Stellenbosch and the South African College of Music in Cape Town. She studied cello with renowned lecturer Magdalena Roux and piano with international performer and lecturer John Antoniadis. Since moving to the UK, she has established herself as a skilled improviser on the cello and has performed and recorded with numerous bands and groups.

Dan and Deryn joined creative forces in February 2006, and have since written two film scores, one of which is due for commercial release in 2008, released their debut album, “Empty Highways” and had a collection of co-written pieces, “Reflections on Time” released on a German music and art compilation, “Nachtvorstellung”. “Reflections on Time” will be released in its entirety at the end of 2007.
