Anna-Marie Munro - Llandudno, Conwy, North Wales Anna-Marie is the daughter of Scottish comedian Alex Munro, also known as one of the Horsburgh Bros. in his early career as an acrobat and Marie Munro (nee Brady) who was a renowned showbiz dancer and choreographer in her own right. Quality performance runs in this family. Anna-Marie’s sister Janet Munro starred in many Walt Disney films culminating in such great movies as “Swiss Family Robinson” & “Darby O’Gill & the Little People” as well as many more. Anna-Marie’s initial introduction to viewing audiences occurred at the tender age of two weeks in Llandudno at the In between school work, Anna-Marie regularly appeared on stage both with her parents and in other shows together with appearing in 10 consecutive pantomimes and having the honour of being the youngest principal boy in a professional pantomime when appearing as Aladdin at the age of 15. The opportunity to sing and dance gave valuable early training for her performing career. Having completed both A level music and Grade 8 in singing and with great determination, Anna-Marie set out to achieve the status of L.R.A.M. – Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music. This is widely thought of as being one of the highest recognised qualifications achievable for singing throughout the world. Anna-Marie is also an accomplished actress and has appeared in many popular television programmes such as:- The Lost Empires; Fell Tiger & Brookside to name but a few and because Anna-Marie is based in North Wales, the majority of work being on S4C television productions such as C’mon Midffield; Porc Peis Bach; A55 & Galw Gari. From 1999 to 2006 Anna-Marie performed regularly at a beautiful venue in Llandudno – Y Tabernacl – which was a chapel that had been restored to its former glory thanks to lottery grant money. The show was produced in conjunction with David Bailey – the internationally renowned concert pianist and together with David, the show allowed Anna-Marie to display her special blend of musical excellence and delightful versatility; whilst creating a well deserved reputation as North Wales’ leading lady of song or “The Nightingale of North Wales” as she is fondly known. Anna-Marie is always in high demand to sing at both Weddings and Funerals and is able to sing many different genres of music to suit all requirements and requests ranging from traditional pieces such as Ave Maria to more unusual requests such as Whiter Shade of Pale! Anna-Marie has two c.d.’s available “A Love Until the End of Time” and “Que Sera Sera” and is delighted to be involved with Vocaltutor and looks forward to welcoming students of all ages.
