Daisy Chute Singing Teacher - Borough, Southwark, London As a professional singer who enjoys singing many different styles of music, from opera to classical crossover, jazz to pop, I have learnt that the basis of any good, safe singing is a solid technique grounded in classical singing principles. In my lessons I aim to prepare the singer to sing correctly and well in whatever style he or she chooses to sing. I have been a recording artist in jazz, classical crossover and close harmony singing for 6 years, 4 of which I was signed as an artist with major label Universal releasing 3 albums with them following my solo debut jazz album. I have been training classically since my early teens and have gained a BMus (Hons) from Kings College London with vocal and composition tuition at the Royal Academy of Music. I can offer a real insight into the music industry in addition to passing on valuable information about vocal technique and guiding you through improving your voice. I have been teaching privately for 5 years as well as leading youth workshops and choirs. My experience as a full-time chorister in Edinburgh's St Mary's Cathedral gave me an understanding of the young developing voice and issues in technique specifically related to choral and group singing. Having consistently achieved Distinction in ABRSM examinations in Voice, Guitar, Piano and Music Theory, I am also able to lead a student through examinations successfully. My main focus as a teacher and professional performer is singing, but I am able to assist in composition and songwriting, sound engineering (with use of my studio equipment) and beginner/intermediate piano and guitar tuition. I am happy to travel to the student, though I usually teach in zone 1 London, either at the JS Studios in Edgware Road, or in Kings Cross at The Joint or Musica Nova Anglo-Russian Music Academy. I am currently looking for a teaching space in my new neighbourhood - London Bridge/Borough. Testimonials
Reviews of my jazz CD Simply Jazz released in 2005. "her voice and style are full of jazz
know how as witnessed the assured phrasing....." -
Humphrey Lyttelton Best of Jazz BBC Radio 2 -------------------------- “Such
is her maturity of interpretation and phrasing that her age really is an
irrelevance. For those readers who have a knee-jerk reaction to anything with
the word 'jazz' in the title, please don't be put off. Daisy sings with great
respect for melody and lyrics alike - her clear, sweet voice places her firmly
in the mainstream of the great tradition of popular music.” -
Gerry Stonestreet - "In
Tune" Magazine Other “I could listen to her fantastic voice all day” Howard Goodall “Fabulous” Anita Wardell “There are lots of pretty girls who can sing, but
Daisy has the ability to make everyone in the room think she’s singing directly
to them” Barry Gibb (after hearing me sing solo at a party) Paul McCartney heard
me sing at the Classical Brit awards in 2006 and pointed out my voice as the
one to watch. Session Fee: £30.00 per hour |
