Gloria Garcia. - Windsor, Berkshire

Gloria Garcia was born in the beautiful wine region of Rioja, in Northern Spain. She began singing at the young age of five, influenced in her early years by her grandmother, Lupe Ayala, who was a well known opera singer.
Over the years, Gloria began to get more and more involved in music; first joining a church choir and later taking guitar and voice lessons, but it wasn't until she graduated in 2000 that she decided to take up the challenge of her life and travel to the UK looking to further her musical opportunities overseas.

Once in England, Gloria ardently began writing and recording her own songs. It wasn't long before her striking vocal style started to capture wider attention as she began taking to the stage, performing both on her own, and accompanied by other accomplished musicians from the Berkshire and London area, singing in both English and Spanish.

Gloria continued her professional development, taking jazz voice and piano lessons. After taking the diploma in teaching singing at the London College of Music in London and attending various Youth Music singing training courses, Gloria started teaching singing on a regular basis. Since 2003, Gloria has been teaching singing as a workshop leader and on a one to one basis. Some of her customers include: Thames Valley University, Youth Music, The Arts Council of England, various youth centres around Berkshire and East Berkshire College. She has recently taught the singing module of the BTEC National Diploma in performing arts at East Berkshire College, teaching various styles ranging from Pop, Rock, Soul, RnB, Funk, Jazz, Gospel and Musical Theatre.

Gloria has also extensive session-work experience under her belt, having collaborated with renowned producers John Wadlow, Master Stepz and Amit Kamboj, and fronted numerous bands such as Nu Future and the acoustic duo Garcia, performing extensively at well known music festivals and venues such as Jagz in Ascot, The Cellar Bar in Bracknell, West One Four in London and private functions. As a performer, Gloria is incredibly expressive and versatile and has a genuine passion for music.

Her approach to teaching singing is friendly and attentive, depending on each student’s needs.

- Laptop to play songs, backing tracks.

- Mirror.

Recording equipment

- Cubase SX sequencer

- Rode NT1000 condenser microphone, stand and popshield.

- Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones.

- Roland PC30 midi keyboard

- Tascam US122 soundcard

Gloria plays the piano for singing warm up exercises. Students can be accompanied on piano and guitar or backing tracks can also be used.

Gloria holds an Enhanced CRB check as well as Public Liability Insurance.
