Lee Webster - Epsom, Surrey

Lee has a Higher Diploma in Contemporary Music Vocals from Guildford ACM and has vast experience is Rock and Pop vocals including stage work. Lee has studied, practiced and trained in vocals over six years and has a very distictive Rock/Pop sound, though he is able to teach other genres as well.

 

His own recroding studio enables him to record music and vocals as a practice aid or as high quality Demos.

Lee has worked with one of London's leading Production Companies Cave Productions and top songwriter David Hearn on original material. Being young gives him the advantage to connect with younger students and adapt to different teaching styles.

 

Lee is based in Epsom, Surrey.

 

During his time at ACM Lee was able to further his knowledge in teaching techniques and live performances, which also included stage craft and band work.  During his year’s training he was the lead singer for two bands who played regularly at ACM and in the surrounding area. His first band called Unit were very popular for having very tight guitar riffs and drums. The band always kept to what they did best, which was Rock, but on occasions they would try somthing different like jazz or county. The band always got a good reception from the crowd.

 

From a young age, Lee would be the first one to stand up and start singing for any reason.  When he realised that he had talent, he decided to capitalise on it and he therefore started training properly. Over the past three years, apart from education at ACM, he has also attended private tuition with a vocal tutor to reach the standard he is now at.  This tutor also works for VocalTutor and she gave Lee a great insight into teaching and how to use his own skills to assist others.

 

In Lee's home, he provides a safe and comfortable space for students to learn and progress. His own home studio can be provided for recording vocals and by using Logic Pro and he can help students to create and edit music and vocals for practice and for submitting demos.

 

Lee's main areas of expertise are rock and pop, but he can assist  students to progress in other areas.  Lee's inspiration comes from the likes of Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and Robbie Williams.

 

Students will receive a lesson plan shortly after he starts teaching them, which will detail each lesson and what to expect, in order that his students can be prepared.

 

In lessons with Lee you will cover:

 

·     How the vocal folds work;

·     Breathing from the belly and diaphragm;

·     How to warm your vocal chords without straining them (with some great warm up techniques);

·     Vocal longevity; and stamina

·     How to get a full resonant tone;

·     Diction;

·     Extending vocal range;

·     Microphone skills;

·     How to overcome stage fright and anxiety.

 

These are only a few of the things Lee will cover and he will tailor each lesson to the student’s abilities and their own personal goals.

 

Lee is able to travel to students home for lessons as well, but only within short travelling distance of where Lee is based in Surrey.
