Lorraine is a Classically-trained Singer having initially undertaken 2 years tuition with Miss Vera Waterhouse (LRAM) Triple ATCL (Vocal Tutor) in Lydgate. She then undertook a Performing Arts Diploma at Higginshaw Centre, Oldham and following on from this successfully studied and achieved a BA (Hons) Music Degree at Colchester Institute. On her return to Greater Manchester Lorraine received vocal coaching with Alexander Crowe MA (CANTAB) LRAM at the Royal Northern College of Music and presently maintains a link with the College receiving additional Vocal Tuition by Robert Alderson ARCM LGSM DipEdMus (Manchester) Hon Dr Culture & Art.
Lorraine has performed as a Soloist before Royalty, Celebrities and Dignitaries alike on a variety of occasions both abroad and in Great Britain. She has given Recitals, appeared on both Radio and Television and been a Soloist for Choral Groups in such works as Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Song of Miriam, Verdi’s Nabucco etc and appeared in numerous Concerts and Theatrical Productions such as Grease, Cabaret, The Plough & The Stars, Die Fledermaus, The Hot Mikado etc.
Lorraine is an experienced Vocal Tutor on both a one-to-one and group basis. She tutors students from her home studio and strives not only to enhance their vocal skills in the best and most appropriate way possible for each individual student but also to assist in their personal development. The holistic approach of the Vocal Tutor Programme suits her method of vocal tuition perfectly.
Lorraine also conducts 2 small 4-part harmony mixed choirs, which allows her to use an eclectic range of musical repertoire.
