Tara Bennett - Colchester, Essex, CO4 9WW Tara began her singing career aged nine, as a founder member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Chorus. Aged 14 she started training with the National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain. These endeavours led to a number of performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Belfast Lyric Theatre & Belfast Waterfront Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall; in addition to performances in Paris, Vienna and Ghent. Tara graduated from the London School of Musical Theatre in 2006. Whilst at college she studied voice technique and musical performance with Rosemary Ashe. Upon graduation she performed at the Theatre Museum, Covent Garden in Transatlantic Talents production of “A Woman’s Prerogative- the music of Harold Arlen” and the “Anthology of Conor Mitchell” at the Actor’s Church, Covent Garden, before joining Nottingham Playhouse’s Number One National Tour of “Tracy Beaker Gets Real” understudying and playing Tracy Beaker. She is represented by Regan Rimmer Management and has just completed recording on her five track EP with Reckless LTD. Tara began her singing training at a young age studying for the noted ABRSM exams before a change of vocal coach led to an exploration of differing genres of music; and her love of Musical Theatre, Pop and Rock was born. Her lessons are focused upon confidence building and honing students existing abilities, using the Estill methods to improve vocal technique. In addition to private tution, Tara is also a Voice Consultant for The Panto Company LTD and Park Holidays UK, and Head of Singing at Tiffany Stage Academy, Clacton. Tara teaches a variety of students including beginners, young adults, working professionals and those who just love to sing.
