Penny Foster is a singer, recording artist , session singer, songwriter, artist development coach and singing teacher. Penny has a degree in Pop Music (Vocals) from the Academy of Contemporary Music, which specialises in training musicians and singers in all aspects of the music industry, and a post--grad in Musical Theatre from London Academy of Performing Arts. She also attended the famous Brit School which produced such artists as Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis.
She has performed all her life, and has sung live and solo at the Royal Albert Hall, to club audiences in Ibiza and London , and toured the London circuit with her band .
She is an experienced session vocalist,recording artist and songwriter, regularly co-writing with chart producers and working with major labels and publishers. She has had tracks released by Warner, Hed Kandi , Ministry of Sound, 3 Beat Record Labels. She worked with many musicians artists and songwriters at the top of the industry including Lana Del Rey and most recently she developed Brit School student Imani to signing with Sony Records, and co-wrote her no 1 hit " Say You Do"
During her degree she studied technical theory and harmony, performance, basic production skills, and composition and arrangement. She can therefore teach performance skills alongside vocal technique, and for students who write their own songs, she can also help with songwriting and can arrange recording if required. She covers all levels, from beginers to advanced, and although specialisong in Pop and Musical Theatre, can cover a range of styles.
Since working for Vocaltutor she has seen many of her students develop in confidence and progress in their careers, or been successful in auditions for drama schools, or get the best from a planned recording session. Penny also works as an artist development coach for a major music company so can offer advice for aspiring artists.
Penny keeps her skills up to date by taking masterclasses with international singing coaches.
